Here is the King

In Luke 24:33-43, Jesus is Crucified. The thief next to him begs to be in his kingdom. The guard hangs a sign, here is the king of the Jews. The yell at him, if he is the messiah, save himself. This Christ the King Sunday, how might we reflect on this king specifically?
